YOUR INFORMATION MATTERS
Privacy policy
Last updated: November 7, 2026
This policy explains how Shop to Books handles information when you visit our website, create an account, or use our bookkeeping service.
1. Scope and contact
Shop to Books helps sellers organize information from authorized sales channels and accounting companies. References to Shopify, Etsy, Amazon and QuickBooks Online describe relevant platforms; a connection is available only when it is offered in the product and you authorize it.
For privacy questions or requests, email support@shoptobooks.com or write to Shop to Books, 30 N Gould St Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801, United States.
2. Information we collect
The information we process depends on how you use the service and which platforms you connect. It may include:
- Account information: your name, email address, login credentials and organization membership.
- Connection information: identifiers, names, country, currency and authorization credentials for the shops and accounting companies you choose to connect.
- Business and bookkeeping information: payout, settlement, order and transaction details made available through an authorized connection, as well as accounting settings, account names, journal-entry information and activity records.
- Communications: information you provide when you contact us or use account-related messages and invitations.
- Technical information: request details, device or browser information, security events and error logs needed to operate and protect the service.
Platform access is limited by the permissions you grant and the features available for that connection.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and maintain the service; authenticate users; connect authorized accounts; organize, review and record bookkeeping information; respond to requests; send account-related messages; secure the service; and meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information or use a connected shop to advertise to its buyers.
4. Connected platforms
When you connect a platform, you authorize it through its own sign-in or consent process. Shopify, Etsy, Amazon and Intuit have their own privacy policies and control their own services. We receive and use the access granted for the connection and the features available to you. We do not ask for your platform password.
Revoking access through a platform may stop future access, but it does not automatically delete information already held by Shop to Books or entries already written in QuickBooks. Contact us if you want to discuss your information or account.
5. When information is shared
We may share information with the platforms you connect and with service providers that help us run the service, such as hosting and email providers. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or users, or as part of a business transaction, subject to applicable law.
6. Storage and security
We use measures intended to protect information, including password hashing, encryption of stored connection credentials and controls that separate organizations’ data. No system can guarantee absolute security. Depending on our service providers, information may be processed or stored in the United States or other locations.
7. Retention and your choices
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain business and accounting records, resolve disputes, protect the service or comply with legal obligations. Retention periods may vary by record type and applicable requirements.
You may contact us to ask about access to, correction of or deletion of information associated with your account. We will review and respond to requests as required by applicable law; we may need to verify your identity and retain certain records where required or permitted. You can also manage platform authorizations through the relevant platform.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
The application uses cookies and similar browser storage to support sign-in, security and your session preferences. Your browser settings may let you control or remove stored data, although some features may not work without it.
9. Children’s privacy
The service is intended for businesses and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service or our practices change. We will post the updated policy and date on this page and provide additional notice where required by law.
